Email Remains Number One Marketing Channel for Business Leads
According to a new whitepaper titled “The State of Prospecting 2023” by Sopro, email is the top marketing channel when it comes to new business prospecting. It was revealed that 59% of marketers believe that email is more than twice as effective at generating leads than channels such as PPC and paid social. The annual whitepaper also reveals that 77% of B2B buyers prefer to be contacted over email (more than double any other channel) and that they want the content of the email campaign to be engaging and to share information and knowledge. Microsoft Sets its Eyes on ChatGPT
According to reports, Microsoft is considering adding OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology to its office software including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. There’s been a lot of hype around ChatGPT recently, with one of its main features being its ability to assist users with language processing. The integration of the software into Microsoft products could potentially mean that users will be able to use it to generate text with simple prompts, improving efficiency and productivity when creating content. The Top Content Formats of 2022
According to HubSpot’s State of Marketing report, the top three media formats marketers used in 2022 were video (59%), blogs (48%), and images (46%). Video content claimed the top spot for the third year in a row, with the report revealing that short-form video platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels are growing the fastest. When looking into the most effective types of content marketers use in social media, funny content, interactive content (such as polls and AR), and authentic, behind-the-scenes content reigned as winners. Growing Uncertainty Around TikTok’s Future in the US
The US government recently approved a ban on the use of TikTok on federal government devices, adding to the growing uncertainty around the app's future in the US. Officials say the ban is necessary due to national security concerns about the China-based owner of the app, ByteDance. An internal investigation into ByteDance recently uncovered the finding that ByteDance has reportedly been using the platform to access the data of US journalists. The data included their IP addresses, which were allegedly used to see if they had been physically near TikTok employees who were suspected of leaking information to the press. Read more.
